<itunes:summary>On this episode we talk about E3 and WWDC 2013.

Xbox One E3 Event
This week we saw an event from Microsoft at E3 following up the announcement of the Xbox One a few weeks ago. At the event Microsoft mostly talked about launch games and Xbox LIVE. Launch games are going to include Battlefield 4, Minecraft, Forza Motorsport 5, Assassins Creed 4, Call of Duty Ghosts, Halo 5 and more.

Also if you pre-order the console now you will get the Xbox One Day One limited edition console with a limited edition controller and special achievements at no extra cost.

A few months ago Microsoft discontinued the Xbox LIVE Gold family pack. Now when you sign up to Xbox LIVE Gold everyone in the family can use Xbox LIVE at no extra cost. Local currency is now supported in Xbox LIVE to replace Microsoft Points. Updates will now be discretely updated in the background and games and game content will be saved in the cloud on Microsofts 300,000 servers.

You will now be able to record gameplay locally to the console and stream to twitch.tv. Basic video editing features will be available also.

One of the biggest debates about the Xbox One however, is the restrictions on games. If you buy a physical copy of a game and install it on your Xbox One the game will register to that console. In order to play the game on another console you will have to pay a fee. The console will also have to be connected to the internet every 24 hours even when playing completely offline games.

The Xbox One will cost €499. It will come with Kinect 2 and will be available in November.

Playstation 4
The Playstation 4 event followed the Xbox One event at E3 later on Monday Evening. Sony announced launch games for the console that include Assassin's Creed 4, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty Ghosts, FIFA 14, Planetside 2 and more.

Sony are not putting any restrictions on used games and you can trade them and loan them as much as you want.

The console itself was revealed. It has a really cool design and is a little bit smaller than the Xbox One.

The price of the console is going to be €399 and will be available around Chirstmas time.

WWDC 2013

OS X Mavericks
Apple have run out of big cats so they decided to call the new version of OS X, Mavericks. New features include iBooks and Apple Maps apps, re-designed calender, safari and notifications apps. Finder now has tabs and tags and keychain access now has iCloud support to sync all of your passwords across all devices and will have a password generator built in. Multiple display support has been hugely improved to support multiple fullscreen apps across multiple screens and updates have been made to OS X server too.

New MacBook Airs
The new MacBook Air has some minor improvements. New Intel Haswell Core i5 and Core i7 processors are more powerful and much more power efficient than previous CPU's. As a result the 11" Air now has 9 hour battery life and the 13" has 12 hour battery life. There is also now support for 802.11ac Wifi.

Mac Pro
The current Mac Pro is still the most powerful Mac that Apple make. It is very outdated though. The last major update to the Mac Pro was in 2008 so a new Mac Pro was badly needed.

The design of the new Mac Pro is very different. The enclosure is a glossy black cylinder that is 29.146cm in height and 16.764cm in width which is incredibly small.

The new Mac Pro will feature the Intel Xeon E5 CPU’s with up to 12 cores, dual AMD FirePro Workstation class GPU’s with 6GB overall RAM as well as PCI Express flash storage with speeds of up to 1.25Gbps. Apple have designed a unified thermal core to cool this extremely powerful computer with a single fan on the top of the device.

The new Mac Pro will have 6 thunderbolt 2 ports. Thunderbolt 2 is even faster than the original thunderbolt interface with speeds of 20Gbps. You will be able to use the thunderbolt 2 ports for hard drive and PCI E expansion. HDMI 1.4 for 4K support, USB3, Gigabit Ethernet and 802.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>On this episode I talk about the new Mac Pro, new studio equipment and more.

The New Mac Pro
The annual WWDC keynote was on this week. Many new Apple products were shown off and most of them were irrelevant to podcasting. One new product that caught my eye however, is the new Mac Pro.

The new Mac Pro will feature the Intel Xeon E5 CPU's with up to 12 cores, dual AMD FirePro Workstation class GPU's with 6GB overall RAM as well as PCI Express flash storage with speeds of up to 1.25Gbps.

HDMI 1.4 for 4K support, USB3, Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11ac wifi will also be included.

The Mac Pro will be coming later this year and will be made in the U.S. There is no word on pricing yet but one thing we do know is that this computer will be extremely fast!

My Computer Crisis
I have now resolved my computer issues and I have re-wired the studio and improved the workflow. I have also made a media server that I am using to store all of the Talks About Tech episodes as well as to upload episodes of Talks About Tech. I suppose everything happens for a reason.

New Equipment in the Studio
I decided to invest in a second internet connection in the studio because the speeds of the home broadband is very slow and when I uploaded files on the broadband connection it slowed the internet to a crawl.

I decided to pick up an 02 3G USB dongle. I went with a €19,99 per month plan for 6 months that gives me 15GB of data which is more than enough just for uploading and live streaming files. You can find out more information about the 3G dongle here.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>On this episode we talk about WWDC 2013, a mind controlled quadcopter and more.

E3 2013
The gaming conference E3 is coming up next week. We can expect to get lots more information about the next generation Xbox One as well as the Playstation 4 and some gameplay to match it. We will hopefully see more gameplay from upcoming titles such as Fifa 14, Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts. It's exciting times.

Windows 8.1
Microsoft have announced that they will be releasing Windows 8.1 Blue with some nice new features. Microsoft have said that they listened to user reviews and have made some changes accordingly.

Microsoft haven't given full details about the new features but they said that there will be new personalisation features such as a background wallpaper on the start screen, a picture slide show on the lock screen, Skype integration and more.

Another feature Microsoft announced was an improved search charm with Bing search integration. They are also updating the built-in apps and making improvements to the Windows 8 marketplace. There will be metro and desktop versions of internet explorer 11 released with Windows 8.1 too.

The biggest feature I think though is that Microsoft are bringing back the start button. However, they are bringing back the start button not the start menu. There will be a start button on the desktop Windows menu bar but when you press it, it will bring you into the metro interface.

Lots of nice new features coming into Windows 8.1 and we will be hearing more at next weeks Build conference.

3D Printer for Under $500
There is a new 3D printer on Kickstarter now from pirate3D called the Buccaneer. The Buccaneer uses cartridges with plastic material in them for building objects layer by layer. It also uses software that is available on a PC or mobile device and is very easy to use. You can pledge on Kickstarter now and you only have to pledge $1 although you don't get much for that. A pledge of $447 will get you the printer, $50 delivery charge and 5 extra cartridges which cost $12 each. Pirate3D looked for $100,000 and have already reached over $735,000 going way over their targets. You can check out the Kickstarter page here.

Mind Controlled Quadcopter
Researchers from the University of Minnesota have designed quadcopter that people can interact with using their thoughts. The pilot of the quadcopter places a cap on their head with 64 electrodes which can sense electric signals being sent by the brain. If the pilot thinks about making a fist with their left hand for example, they can move the quadcopter left. Tests have been very successful and pilots have been able to very accurately control the quadcopter. The idea behind this research is to able to use this technology for disabled people so that they can have greater control over prosthetic limbs.

WWDC 2013 on Next Week
Apple's world famous WWDC developer conference is starting on Monday and there have been many rumours as to what Apple may be releasing.

iOS7
iOS is in desperate need of a design overhall. Jonny Ive has been confirmed to be designing iOS 7 and rumours say that the design will carry many of the previous versions of iOS layout but with a cleaner, flatter design. There have also been other little features rumoured such as more social network integration.

MacOS X 10.9
There are many rumours of a new MacOS X but what will they call it? Rumours say that Apple will make changes to the Finder to allow for tabbed file browsing. Siri and Apple Maps will be integrated and there will be performance improvements.

New MacBook Airs and Non-Retina MacBook Pro's
The new MacBook Airs and Non-Retina MacBook Pro's are rumoured to get the newly released Intel Haswell 4th generation Core i processors as well as a 1080p Facetime camera. The Non-Retina MacBook pro is also rumoured to get a slimmer design.

New Mac Pro
Rumours say a new Mac Pro which will be manufactured in the US. However,</itunes:summary>
